(Gurgaon, India; October 18, 2007) - Convergys Corporation (NYSE: CVG), the global leader in integrated billing, employee care, and customer care services, announced today that its fourth facility in Gurgaon has gone live with 400 employees already on the job at Vipul Agora on MG Road. Convergys plans to create up to 1000 jobs in this facility. This new Convergys operations center boasts a state-of-the-art design and operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. It is Convergys’ eighth such facility in India.
Convergys added this newest location because of continued growth in the market for outsourced customer care services in India from new and existing clients in the UK and US in communications and other vertical markets.
The majority of new jobs created in Gurgaon are for customer service representatives to handle telephone inquiries and manage customer relationships for Convergys’ clients. In addition, employees perform complex auditing and back office work across a wide range of consumer products and services from the facility. The new Gurgaon location is designed to support a superior customer experience for Convergys clients. The facility encompasses a contact center, administration, recruitment and training rooms, advanced language laboratory, employee transportation center, and other amenities. This Convergys location is outfitted to international standards with ergonomically designed furniture for contact center work, state-of-art generators, and backup contingency systems.
