This awards program was created in 2006 and is a project of the Hartford Business Journal and Best Companies Group. It is designed to identify, recognize and honor the best places of employment in Connecticut, benefiting the state's economy, its workforce and businesses.
Companies from across the state entered the two-part process to determine the ''Best Places to Work in Connecticut.'' The first part evaluated each company's workplace policies, practices, and demographics. The second part surveyed employees to measure the employee experience. The combined score determined the top companies. Best Companies Group managed the registration and survey and also analyzed the data to determine the final scores.
The importance of winning this honor was pointed out by Connolly’s Executive Vice President Jeff Thomas, who said, “It helps us continue to attract the best talent in the area, making it possible for us to continue to grow and achieve our goals.
