(DANBURY, CONN. – March 11, 2010) – Cartus Corporation, the premier provider of employee relocation solutions, held its 2010 Cartus Broker Network International Conference on March 3-5 in Palm Desert, Calif. The conference brought together more than 550 Cartus Broker Network members from the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom for an intensive, three-day event that included an awards celebration as well as an agenda of interactive workshops, roundtable discussions, and executive presentations.

The March 3 awards ceremony included the presentation of the Network’s two top awards. Coldwell Banker deWetter Hovious in El Paso, Texas, captured the Cartus Broker Network Cup, which is presented annually to a brokerage in the Network that has exceeded quality and performance standards in areas such as home marketing, referral originations, and closings. Charles deWetter, president, and Irma Morris, relocation director, accepted the Cup on behalf of the winning company.

Coldwell Banker Preferred in Philadelphia, Pa., won the Cartus Broker Network Masters Cup—the highest award presented to Network members who have previously won the Network Cup. The Masters Cup honors achievements in the same categories as the Network Cup. Harry Caparo, chief executive officer; Regina Coia, president and chief operating officer; and Sue DeLuca, relocation director, all of Coldwell Banker Preferred, were on hand to receive the Masters Cup for the second time in the past three years.

“It is my great pleasure to present these outstanding firms with their awards,” said Gerald Pearce, Cartus’ executive vice president, real estate group. “They have both gone above and beyond in demonstrating the value of excellent service and perseverance.”

In his keynote address to the gathering, acclaimed economist Todd Buchholz—former White House director of economic policy, CNBC commentator, and author—offered attendees an entertaining, incisive snapshot of domestic and global economic issues. Other featured speakers included Richard A. Smith, president and CEO of Realogy, Cartus’ parent company, and Kevin J. Kelleher, Cartus president and CEO.

Representing nearly 1,000 of the top-performing brokers across the country, the Cartus Broker Network provides real estate services to clients and customers of Cartus’ affinity, corporate, and government clients. In 2009, Cartus and the Cartus Broker Network closed sales of more than 63,000 properties on behalf of Cartus clients and Network members with an approximate value of $17 billion.
