"Instead of stressing and worrying at such times, college graduates must rise to the occasion and meet the new challenges," said Steven Rothberg, President and Founder of Minneapolis-based CollegeRecruiter.com

Minneapolis, Minnesota - January 5, 2006 - From the mid-1990´s to the summer of 2001, candidates using Internet job boards would apply to 10 jobs and expect to receive two or three responses. Instead, they would often receive 20 responses, many from headhunters whose business was booming like never before. Back then it was almost impossible to find a company that wasn't hiring. So close in years yet so far, far away from the realities of today´s job market. Today, the job market appears the very antithesis of those glory days.

"Instead of stressing and worrying at such times, college graduates must rise to the occasion and meet the new challenges," said Steven Rothberg, President and Founder of Minneapolis-based CollegeRecruiter.com http://www.CollegeRecruiter.com. "In this job race, the only survivors are those who fit themselves with a stellar resume and a die-hard attitude." To help graduates navigate through the job-hunting process´s choppy waters, Rothberg offers examples of ten questions which human resource professionals are likely to ask during an interview:

1. Why do you want to work for us?

2. Why did you choose your college major?

3. How has your college experience prepared you for a business career?

4. What are your weaknesses and strengths?

5. What were your most satisfying and unsatisfying internship experiences? If you did not participate in an internship, please explain why.

6. Explain a time you had to deal with a high-pressure situation. How did you work through it and what were the results?

7. What long- and short-term goals and objectives have you set for yourself? How close are you to achieving them? What action steps are you taking to achieve success?

8. Our company has a mission statement that provides us with strategic direction. What is your mission statement?

9. What do you know about our company and do you have any questions about our company that you would like answered?

10. Why are you the best candidate for the position? You have 30 seconds to make your pitch and leave a lasting impression.

"The more you can make your experience vivid and memorable for the recruiter, the greater the odds are of advancing to the next stage of the interview process," said Rothberg. Graduates and soon-to-be graduates who are interested in mastering the job interview process will be happy to hear that CollegeRecruiter.com is partnering with Everything Communications http://www.everythingcomm.com to develop a white paper entitled, "The Job Interview Guide For Today´s College Graduates." The report will provide graduates with many more questions for which to prepare as well as teaching the candidates how to structure their answers. CollegeRecruiter.com will begin distribution of the white paper prior to the May 2006 peak graduation season.
