Boyden Baltimore-Washington Adds Search Talent in Aerospace/Defense and Supply Chain

• Alexandra Hamlet joins firm’s Aerospace, Defense, and Intelligence practice; • Fred Johnson joins the Supply Chain /Logistics Management practice

WASHINGTON, DC - Boyden, a global leader in executive search with more than 65 offices in over 40 countries, today announced two notable additions to its Baltimore- Washington office. Alexandra Hamlet, a veteran management expert in defense organizational development, will join the firm’s Aerospace, Defense, and Intelligence Practice and Fred Johnson, a tenured human resources executive, will join the firm’s Supply Chain/Logistics Management team. Both join Boyden as Principals.

Ms. Hamlet’s 19 years experience as an organizational and cultural anthropologist brings the firm unique expertise to client search execution. Prior to joining Boyden, she served more than 70 U.S. and foreign government and corporate entities advising leadership on organizational change, cross-cultural communications, and systems engineering.

She has provided consulting to the Pentagon, DARPA (Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency), U.S. Joint Forces Command and the U.S. Air Force’s Flight Test Center, Air Combat Command Headquarters, and Headquarters Air Force, Pentagon. Ms. Hamlet’s clients abroad have included the New Zealand Foreign Ministry and Australia’s Defense Services. Her Fortune 500 client portfolio has included AT&T, Allied Chemical, General Electric, and DuPont. Ms. Hamlet holds a Bachelor’s degree in psychology and journalism from the University of Richmond and a Master’s degree in social and cultural anthropology from Harvard University.

Mr. Johnson has served as senior human resources management for 23 years, most recently as Partner at a well-regarded specialty search firm. He has led multiple C-level searches, internally and externally for clients.

Prior to entering executive search, he spent more than 25 years in operations and human resources roles associated with supply chain management in the technology and business solutions sectors. He has served with CI International as Vice President of Human Resources and Managing Director, European Operations. In addition, with NewRoads, a provider of fulfillment outsourcing solutions, he served as Senior Vice President of Human Resources. At NewRoads Mr. Johnson was a key provider of management that supported the company’s growth from $55 million to over $150 million, ranking the firm 37th on Inc. Magazine’s 500 fastest growing companies. He also worked with Digital Equipment Corporation in human resources and operations management. Fred received a Bachelor’s degree in business administration from Skidmore College and completed the Harvard University Graduate School Business Executive Development Program. He is additionally trained and certified in Six Sigma and Lean Enterprise.
