BI Receives Award for Its Work In The Local Community

BI is recognised by Milton Keynes for supporting the local community

Milton Keynes, UK, 13 March 2008, BI, the Communication and Motivation Company, was recognised for its outstanding level of support in the local community at the ‘Local Partnerships for Local Solutions’ evening held last week which celebrates the Milton Keynes Area Programme. BI was presented with the ‘The Young Staff Now Student Support Award’ at the ceremony which took place on Wednesday 5 March at the MK Stadium.

The Mayor of Milton Keynes, Cllr Mike Barry, presented Karen Collins, head of HR and development, BI, with the award which recognises companies involved in the Young Staff Now scheme. This unique programme is designed to bring young people from the local area into mainstream business life who are not in employment, education or training. BI was chosen as the winning company not only because they had recruited an employee through the Young Staff Now scheme but, more importantly, for the outstanding level of support they had given the employee throughout the recruitment process and within their new role.

Karen Collins, head of HR and development, BI, comments: “When an entry level vacancy came up in the business, we saw a good opportunity to continue our support of the local community and looked for a local young person to fill that role. We are delighted to have been recognised with the Young Staff Now Award and are proud to be associated with the scheme which provided invaluable support throughout the whole recruitment process.
