BERNARD HODES GLOBAL NETWORK MEETS IN NEW YORK

Representatives from 25 Countries Discuss Global Best Practices, Employer Branding and Emerging Market Strategies
NEW YORK CITY, NY-- OCTOBER 23, 2006 – The Bernard Hodes Global Network (http://www.hodes.com/globalnetwork/index.asp), a worldwide network providing integrated talent solutions in 34 countries on five continents, recently gathered in New York for two days of strategic meetings where they also welcomed representatives from their newest locations in Mexico and China.
“The Bernard Hodes Global Network continues to build on ‘best in class’ capabilities around the world,” said Alan V. Schwartz, president and CEO, Bernard Hodes Group. “The unparalleled commitment of our partners, vast global experience, and proven account management process, support our common mission, which is to provide the best talent, globally and locally, to help organizations find, hire and keep theirs.”
Peter Bedford, director of global resourcing and employment, Nokia joined the meeting on its second day to present the history behind his organization’s partnership with the Hodes Network. Mr. Bedford spoke to the benefits of working with the “truly global network” that Hodes offers, ensuring talent solutions with a global voice and a local accent that directly address the needs of Nokia’s worldwide offices.
The topic of employer branding was on the agenda as Network partner Ralf Lodberg of Denmark related new methods of approaching branding in his presentation ‘Using Storytelling in Employer Branding’. A review of the results of the Network’s recent Global Branding Study (http://www.hodes.com/globalnetwork/brandingsurvey.asp), which was conducted in 4 languages across 25 countries and completed in June 2006, also added insight to the branding discussions.
Strategies for working in emerging markets were also a focus as partners from India and Thailand presented their market updates.  The day prior to the meeting, Chris Plowman, Hodes Regional Agency Director, Asia Pacific, hosted an exclusive group of HR leaders in New York for breakfast and a presentation on the emerging talent market in China. “The core human resource issue in China today is the significant mismatch between needs and availability in terms of skills and geographies,” said Plowman.
Countries represented at the meeting included Australia/New Zealand, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, China, Czech Republic, Denmark, Dubai, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Hungary, India, Ireland, Luxembourg, Mexico, The Netherlands, Romania, Singapore, Slovak Republic, Thailand, the United Kingdom and the United States.
