(NEW YORK, N.Y., August 16, 2006) - Now there's a loose-leaf resource that can guide corporate counsel, senior HR professionals and employment law attorneys on the best ways to defend against employment litigation and to keep lawsuits from being filed in the first place. "Defending and Preventing Employment Litigation" from Aspen Publishers, part of the Wolters Kluwer Law & Business group, offers expert insight on avoiding employee lawsuits and keeping their costs to a minimum (www.aspenpublishers.com).

"With monetary awards on the rise, sophisticated baby boomers poised to sue for age discrimination, expansion of the ADA by the courts and a growing trend toward class-action lawsuits, employers may soon be faced with a host of new challenges and risks," said Joanne Cursinella, Aspen developmental editor. "'Defending and Preventing Employment Litigation' is an essential tool for those who need to minimize those risks."

Written by partners at the law firm of Drinker Biddle & Reath LLP, Gerald S. Hartman and Gregory W. Homer, "Defending and Preventing Employment Litigation" offers authoritative guidance to help minimize employment lawsuits, manage outside counsel, contain litigation costs and optimize litigation results It helps users better understand and manage every phase of litigation - from the initial employee complaint through the final resolution of the case This includes developing internal procedures that can not only reduce the number of employment disputes but also prevent those that arise from becoming full-blown lawsuits; determining when to retain outside counsel for a specific employment dispute; and optimizing results and containing costs by effectively managing the outside counsel relationship.
