The new sponsorship signals a deepening commitment by Delta Dental to the delivery of dental care to Hispanic populations within its 16-state operating area and in the District of Columbia.
"Delta Dental's support for the Hispanic Dental Association is to promote and encourage oral health careers among Hispanics, which will result in greater access to care for a population with so many unmet dental needs," said Marilynn Belek, DMD, Delta Dental's executive vice president and chief dental officer. "Our enterprise is actively pursuing initiatives that complement the aims of this dental group, which makes this partnership that much more important for the people it will benefit," she said.
The Hispanic Dental Association is the only national organization of dental professionals dedicated to promoting and improving the oral health of the Hispanic community and providing advocacy for Hispanic oral health professionals across the United States. The organization has 33 chapters and several others in the formative stages.
