Looking at absence and disability management programs as a means to helping reduce these costs makes sense as it is one of the only ways an organization can reduce costs without cutting benefits and passing on the costs to the employees. You need to be able to translate that into a measure of overall health costs that arise out of being absent or present. You might be surprised at what part of your health cost can be classified as absenteeism and presenteeism costs, instead of health costs.
How would you measure the employer´s pay of that help in improving the health of the employees? Research is needed to show how effectively making improvements in your workforce health will translate into improved productivity and a stronger bottom line.
