The annual PSCA Signature Awards competition is designed to honor excellence in retirement plan communication and investment education. MassMutual developed the award-winning materials with plan sponsors to help overcome specific communications challenges around plan conversions, increasing participation, plan design changes and others.
"The winners of the distinguished Signature Awards have demonstrated an above-and-beyond commitment to retirement plan communication and education programs," said David Wray, president of the PSCA. "These sponsors and providers are a shining example of how effective education can engage American workers to take an active role in planning for a secure retirement."
MassMutual earned two of the three highest honors among retirement plan providers, taking home Gold for its Communications Toolkit, a comprehensive, multi-service model tool that helps plan sponsors provide sound and effective participant education. The Toolkit was developed in response to plan sponsor requests for a resource that consolidates MassMutual's communication offerings into a user-friendly, cost- and content-effective format.
MassMutual also earned the Silver award in the category for its comprehensive ERISA Advisory Services campaign designed to help plan sponsors understand and comply with federal ERISA requirements. The campaign included on-site seminars, e-mail and live WebEx education sessions, an ERISA compliance calendar, stock account questions and answers, information on 401(k) & (m) IRS regulations, one-on-one consultations and a dedicated Web site.
"MassMutual has always been an advocate for actively engaging the participant in planning for retirement and we have invested significantly in technology and research to make sure every education campaign achieves positive, measurable results for our sponsors," said Fred Castellani, executive vice president, MassMutual. "These award-winning creative strategies and communications materials are a testament to the tremendous teamwork put forth by plan sponsors and the MassMutual team on behalf of American workers," adds Castellani.
