Lincoln Employer Markets today announced it has enhanced its Group Protection customer self-service Web site.

PHILADELPHIA - October 12, 2006 - Lincoln Employer Markets today announced it has enhanced its Group Protection customer self-service Web site. The Web site, www.jpfic.com, allows employees to easily manage their group insurance accounts.  The enhanced Web site helps to eliminate paperwork, phone calls, e-mails and other correspondence for both employees and plan sponsors. Lincoln Employer Markets, comprising Lincoln Financial Group´s Defined Contribution, Executive Benefits, and Group Protection businesses, is a newly formed division strategically created to provide employers and employees with integrated solutions for all non-healthcare-related benefits.  

"Previously, employees had to contact their human resources department to get into their account and check the status of claims, beneficiaries, funds distribution and the like," explains Susan Harpster, Vice President of Client Management for Group Protection, "Now employees can register at our customer self-service site by clicking a link at the login page and following three easy steps. Once registered, they have access to their personal account and for future visits only need to enter their username and password." 

Certain restrictions, safeguards and automated notifications allow employers to maintain control of their group´s data. Employees can view their most current coverage information, print dental cards and claim forms, locate participating dentists, check status of a claim, change their password and other profile information, change beneficiaries and more. 

"From a claimant´s standpoint, the new enhancements can save an enormous amount of time and effort," adds Thomas Charest, Vice President, Employee Care Center for Group Protection. "Rather than working through the HR department, who contacts the carrier, who then researches the issue and goes back through the same channels to the claimant; now the insured can simply go directly to the Web site to get information, forms or whatever they need. For a disability claim, they can even report their own return-to-work date, a maternity delivery date or generate a W-2 report for tax purposes."

The self-service enhanced site is not only faster and more convenient for employees, it is also more secure as  less paperwork allows for less of a chance an insured´s information to be mishandled. Claimants can also feel more comfortable providing personal information in a secure Web environment.
