WESTON, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 21, 2007--Ultimate Software
(Nasdaq:ULTI), a leading provider of end-to-end strategic human
resources, payroll, and talent management solutions, announced today
that Therma-Tru Doors, the number one exterior door brand in the
United States with approximately 1,300 U.S.-based associates, is
experiencing business benefits as a result of using Ultimate
Software's UltiPro, including core HRMS/payroll, benefits enrollment,
and performance management, through the hosted service model
Intersourcing. Therma-Tru intends to roll out additional UltiPro
feature-sets - recruitment, time and attendance, and self-service for
managers and employees - later this year.
Three years ago, Therma-Tru's HR team decided to overhaul its
human resources and payroll processes, and HR executives believed that
a new Human Resource Management System (HRMS) was a critical aspect of
this objective. After a formal vendor selection and bidding process,
Therma-Tru selected UltiPro in March 2006 and began planning and
implementing the new solution that the company internally branded as
"PeoplePoint".
"Because our HR department does not have dedicated IT resources,
Intersourcing is a valuable change for us. With Ultimate Software
maintaining the solution, we don't have to worry about managing
upgrades or payroll tax updates," said Carol Summersgill, vice
president of human resources for Therma-Tru. "UltiPro is a key part of
a larger plan that we have in place for greater efficiencies and more
reliable, consistent service to our associates. Intersourcing gives us
the advantages of UltiPro without the IT burden."
One service enhancement delivering business benefits to Therma-Tru
is UltiPro's benefits enrollment. Companies that implement benefits
enrollment enable their associates to review, elect, and submit their
benefit elections at home or in the office via the Internet without
meeting with a benefits practitioner. With benefits enrollment,
associates are able to view and compare current benefits with the
costs and designs of new offerings and make choices for the coming
year.
"We had many comments from our associates about how easy UltiPro's
benefits enrollment interface is. It is very simple to navigate," said
Rhonda Francis, Director HR & Recruiting. "We are looking forward to
implementing additional functionality with UltiPro's Web-based
solution, including UltiPro's recruitment and time attendance
modules."
In January, Therma-Tru rolled out UltiPro Performance Management
functionality that allows organizations to proactively manage employee
performance as part of an overall talent management strategy that
incorporates the recruitment through retirement functionality
integrated in UltiPro. With online performance review capabilities,
including 360-degree feedback and goal-setting tools, UltiPro
Performance Management can help businesses better understand employee
competencies, identify and reduce competency gaps, and plan for future
workforce needs.
"UltiPro Performance Management is becoming a key component of our
talent management strategy," said Summersgill. "The solution is
empowering us with the ability to streamline our employee review
process, better identify employee competencies, analyze areas where we
need employee development, and improve overall associate
satisfaction."
"Therma-Tru is a great example of a company that sees the value of
an end-to-end employee management solution with strong HRMS/payroll at
the core and talent management features tied into one unified system.
Having Ultimate Software as its single-source vendor for recruitment,
performance management, time and attendance, and benefits enrollment,
as well as human resources and payroll, simplifies the day-to-day
processing HR departments do and gives them integrated strategic tools
for better decision-making," said Greg Swick, senior vice president of
sales for Ultimate Software. "We are very pleased that Therma-Tru's
UltiPro solution was up and running quickly with an on-time, on-budget
implementation, and they are already reaping such positive business
results."
