Sign me up: Majority of Company Compensation Pros Would Open Private Social Security Accounts, Compensation.BLR.com Poll Finds

It might be controversial with the public and the Congress, but President Bush´s proposal to let Americans privately invest part of their Social Security savings seems to have solid support among those who oversee employee pay.

Old Saybrook, CT (PRWEB) March 8, 2005 –- It might be controversial with the public and the Congress, but President Bush’s proposal to let Americans privately invest part of their Social Security savings seems to have solid support among those who oversee employee pay. That’s what Compensation.BLR.com, a website for compensation professionals, found in a recent online poll.

Asked, “Would you choose to divert some of your Social Security taxes to a private account if it is allowed?” 56 percent of the participants said yes. Thirty-three percent said no, while 11 percent said they weren’t sure.

The poll, conducted the week of February 7, drew 398 participants.

Helping employees plan for retirement gets more complicated
