TUCSON, Ariz. – May 25, 2005 – ScriptSave, a leading provider of prescription drug discount programs, recently added CVS, Wal-Mart, and Walgreens to its pharmacy network, creating one of the country’s largest pharmacy networks. With the addition of these chain pharmacies, ScriptSave’s 12 million plus cardholders can easily access a participating pharmacy in their neighborhood to reduce their out-of-pocket prescription drug expenditures.
ScriptSave’s pharmacy network comprises a majority of the top retail chains as ranked by the National Council for Prescription Drug Programs (NCPDP), including: Walgreens, Wal-Mart, Rite Aid, CVS Pharmacy, Eckerd, Kroger Pharmacy, Kmart, Target, Albertsons, Safeway, Longs Drug Stores, Winn Dixie and Publix. Many independent pharmacies throughout the U.S. also participate in the network.
“We are continually expanding our pharmacy network to accommodate our cardholders’ needs,” states ScriptSave CEO and President Lori Bryant. “In today’s fast-paced environment, our cardholders want the ability to use their ScriptSave card near their home or office and when they travel. The addition of these national chains enhances our ability to ensure that our cardholders have convenient access to participating pharmacies throughout the country.”
Over the past decade, ScriptSave has saved its cardholders more than ¾ billion dollars. In 2004, cardholders reduced their out-of-pocket expenditures on prescription drugs by more than $170 million, with a national average of 21 percent or $10.97 per prescription. The ScriptSave card provides discounts on all FDA-approved brand-name and generic medications. ScriptSave does not charge an enrollment fee and the card can be used by all household members.
