Westminster, CO.June 8, 2005- Reed Group LLC, an industry leader in providing disability and absence management products and services to international organizations, announced today that it has recently been re-awarded full Case Management Accreditation from URAC, a Washington, DC-based health care accrediting organization that establishes quality standards for the health care industry. URAC´s Case Management Accreditation standards require companies to establish a process to assess, plan and implement case management interventions.
"Reed Group is honored to again receive Case Management Accreditation from URAC," said Presley Reed, MD, Chairman and Chief Medical Officer of Reed Group. "We are very pleased to be recognized in the industry for providing outstanding services. Such a distinction also underscores the quality of our work in our New York and Colorado service centers, supporting our customers, patients, clients, and providers by demonstrating compliance with national standards for case management services."
Reed Group´s Case Management program has been URAC accredited since 2002. Reed Group provides integrated disability clinical case management services for non-occupational and occupational leaves. Reed Group is well known for a unique, clinically focused, non-adversarial approach to disability case management and leave administration services. Serving over 600,000 covered lives from two service centers in New York and Colorado, Reed Group is dedicated to being a leader in the field. As a medical firm rather than a third party administrator or an insurance company, Reed Group´s clinical case management model ensures that every case is clinically reviewed and managed by medical professionals, ensuring a quicker case resolution and high quality employee interactions. Reed Group also provides Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and other leave of absence administrative services directly to employers, and through strategic partnerships with insurance carriers.
"By again receiving URAC Case Management Accreditation, Reed Group has demonstrated a commitment to quality health care," said Garry Carneal, URAC president and CEO. "Quality health care is crucial to our nation´s welfare and it is important to have organizations that are willing to measure themselves against national standards."
URAC´s Case Management Accreditation standards address approaches to ensuring appropriate patient protections have been established, such as policies for confidentiality of patient information, informed consent, dispute resolution and other issues. The standards cover staff structure and qualifications, quality improvement, information management, oversight of delegated functions, ethics, complaints, and the case management process.
