NEWTON, Mass., April 18, 2005 McKesson Corporation, the world's leading healthcare services company and largest provider of clinical decision support tools, has expanded the InterQual® Workers' Compensation & Disability Management (WC&DM) Product Suite with new interactive clinical content and enhanced software to support the care manager. The latest version of the product suite also expands its workflow and documentation capabilities and provides access to industry-standard disability duration guidelines.
The InterQual WC&DM product line now includes Care Management Guidelines that enable care managers to proactively manage a patient's overall treatment and recovery path to support medical improvement goals and early return to work. This dynamic, diagnosis-driven tool leads the user through critical questions and recommends evidence-based interventions regardless of where a patient is in his or her recovery.

The new release of the InterQual software, CareEnhance(TM) Review Manager Enterprise, adds care management activity tracking tools and enables comprehensive analysis through flexible activity, outcome and variance reports. In addition, through a partnership with the Work Loss Data Institute, all InterQual WC&DM customers will now have access to the Official Disability Guidelines(TM) (ODG) from within the InterQual application. ODG disability duration guidelines are the most widely used normative benchmarks in the industry in managing return-to-work.
Other products that round out the InterQual WC&DM product suite are care management criteria that support utilization review nurses in determining medical appropriateness of specific medical services such as imaging studies and physical therapy and specific guidelines for adjusters to manage less complex injuries. InterQual Clinical Evidence Summaries, which support physician-to-physician discussions on more than 100 conditions, are included with all WC&DM software licenses.
McKesson's leading InterQual evidence-based tools are used currently by more than 3,500 health plans, hospitals, academic medical centers and government agencies to support clinical decisions for individual patients across the continuum of care.
