Wednesday, March 3, 2005; Arlington, VA. The Manufacturers Alliance/MAPI will host its annual Benefits Forum on Tuesday, June 7, 2005, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (CDT) at the Sofitel Chicago O'Hare, Rosemont (Chicago), Illinois.
This is the 12th in a series of Benefits Forums sponsored by the Alliance, a public policy and business research organization and a leading provider of executive education and peer networking programs. Forum attendees engage in more intensive and participatory discussions led by peers on current benefits topics of major interest than they generally experience at large-scale benefits conferences. Program segments will include: a company's experiences with a mature consumer-driven health plan; obtaining actual cost and drug-maker rebate information from pharmacy managers; one company's program for raising its health plan participants' awareness of their health risks and changing harmful behaviors; an innovative means of controlling health care costs through complementary and alternative medicine programs; what changes employers are implementing to their retiree health plans; changes one company made to its defined benefit pension plan in light of pension funding requirements; an overview of the types of executives benefits companies are offering and the cost of those benefits; and the participation of a lead benefits person on the collective bargaining team.
The Benefits Forum program consists of presentations made primarily by executives of Alliance member companies, thereby helping to provide timely "real world" examples. During each program segment, attendees-executives with senior level responsibility for their company's employee benefits-explore topics in depth through interactive peer dialogue.
The program also features the popular Manufacturers Alliance/MAPI roundtable discussion, in which attendees' "front burner" issues are introduced for comment, thus offering the potential to identify solutions in a collaborative group setting.
The all-inclusive registration fee for the Benefits Forum is $595, which includes all meeting sessions, meeting agenda materials, welcoming reception on the evening of Monday, June 6, and continental breakfast and luncheon on Tuesday, June 7.
