HMC announces new vice president of clinical programs

Health Management Corporation, today announced the appointment of Samuel Cramer, M.D. as vice president of clinical programs.

Richmond, Va., June 14, 2005 – Health Management Corporation (HMC), a leading national health and disease management company, today announced the appointment of Samuel Cramer, M.D. as vice president of clinical programs. In this role, Dr. Cramer is responsible for the oversight and development of all HMC clinical programs, includingHealthy ReturnsSM Disease Management, Baby Benefits® and 24-hour Nurse Line. He is also responsible for overseeing HMC’s external physician relations efforts and will be involved with client retention and new sales efforts.

 

Most recently, Dr. Cramer served as corporate medical director for Anthem BlueCross BlueShield Midwest (AMW) where he was responsible for the oversight and development of the organization’s Quality Improvement, Utilization Management and Case Management Plan and Program. He also oversaw AMW’s Hospital Quality Program and Coronary Services Network, the development and implementation of medical policy, and provider profiling and education.


Dr. Cramer received his doctor of medicine (MD) degree from the Indiana University School of Medicine and masters in business administration from Indiana Wesleyan University. He practiced internal medicine for 25 years at a private practice in Indianapolis, Ind., while also serving as medical director for a number of Indianapolis-based healthcare facilities.
