American Community Mutual Insurance Company, a leading provider of Individual and Group health insurance, announced today the following appointments, effective immediately
Livonia, Mich., May 7, 2007 – American Community Mutual Insurance Company, a leading provider of Individual and Group health insurance, announced today the following appointments, effective immediately:

*Jim Murphy, Senior Vice President and Chief Actuary
*Dave Skup, Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer
*Neal Spero, Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer
*Beth McCrohan, Vice President and Chief Information Officer
*Terri Conway, Director, Applications Development
*Annette D’Uva, Director, Commissions and Licensing
*Kenneth Konieczka, Director, Accounting
*Raymond Zammit, Director, National Sales Office
*Kim Zaugg, Director, Individual Actuarial

Murphy was promoted to Senior Vice President and Chief Actuary.  In addition to his ongoing role leading the actuarial department, he now assumes responsibility for individual, small group and large group underwriting, underwriting support, as well as policy issue and medical services for new and renewal business.  He recently served as Vice President and Chief Actuary.

Skup was promoted to Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer.  He previously served as Vice President and Treasurer.  In addition to being appointed as Chief Financial Officer, Skup also assumed responsibility for group remittance, termination and reinstatement team functions, and facility management. 

Spero was named Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer, responsible for both Group and Individual lines of business.  He will oversee the company’s marketing initiatives, as well as planning and advancing the company’s coverage choices and affordability in eight states.  He recently served as Senior Vice President of Individual.

McCrohan was promoted to Vice President and Chief Information Officer.  In her new position, McCrohan will implement the strategic direction of information technology and solutions in support of American Community’s goals.  She will ensure that the Information Technology operations comply with industry standards and that the company is provided with stable and secure systems.  McCrohan recently served as Chief Information Officer.

Conway was promoted from Manager, Applications Support to Director, Applications Development; and D’Uva from Manager, Commissions and Licensing to Director, Commissions and Licensing.  Conway has been with American Community for 17 years and will be responsible for providing applications support to individual, group, claims, financial and quote teams.  D’Uva has been with American Community for 18 years and in her new role, she will be responsible for the strategic implementations of agent and commission structures. 

Zammit was promoted from Manager, National Sales Office to Director, National Sales Office; and Zaugg from Manager, Individual Actuarial to Director, Individual Actuarial.  Zammit’s responsibilities include marketing and sales support for all product lines and contributing to territory management, sales and retention, field training and education and territory activity reporting.  Zaugg has been with American Community for 12 years and in her new role, she will be responsible for pricing and rating of individual insurance products, as well as the financial reporting for those products.

In addition, Konieczka joined American Community as Director, Accounting in February 2007.  In this position, Konieczka is responsible for all aspects of the accounting department.  Konieczka has been in the consulting business for the last year.  Prior to that he spent eight years at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan in various roles in the finance area, two years as Director of Finance at MEEMIC Insurance, and seven years as Assistant Controller at Pioneer State Mutual.
