CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (March 17, 2008) – Lynda Fleury, assistant vice president and chief information security officer at Unum (NYSE: UNM), has received the coveted Information Security Executive Southeast Award 2008.
Announced today by Executive Alliance, creator and provider of premium leadership recognition forums and events worldwide, the award acknowledges Fleury’s positive contributions and outstanding accomplishments to the industry through risk management, data asset protection, regulatory compliance, privacy and information security.
“Information security is a fast-paced and extremely complex field that grows more challenging each day,” Fleury said. “It is truly an honor to be recognized by Executive Alliance and my peers for the work we do at Unum.”
In addition to the Fleury’s recognition, four other ISE Southeast finalists were showcased during the event, representing Delta Technology, Hilton Hotels Corp., The Home Depot and SunTrust Banks Inc.
Gene Scriven, Chief Information Security Officer, The Home Depot, was named the People’s Choice Award Winner for 2008. Scriven received the accolade from the community of peers who attended the event and voted him as the executive who exemplifies the most attributes of a leader in the security industry.

The awards ceremony is part of the Executive Alliance Leadership Summit, a two-day interactive platform that allows executives to discuss issues at the forefront of their business priorities.
