Los Angeles, CA (PRWeb) December 21, 2006 -- CEO and President David Pyle and the staff at Southern California-based American Career College (ACC) and West Coast University (WCU) experienced the joy of giving as Pyle, his Board of Advisors, and over 400 staff members at both schools collectively extended their generosity and dedication to their community by donating $10,000 to the Los Angeles Free Clinic.
Additionally, Trevor Cevene, Director of Outreach for ACC and WCU, along with four staff members, donated their time by helping Clinic staff and other volunteers set up for the party, distribute gift bags to attendees, serve food and clean up after the party which was held at the Clinic’s Hollywood Boulevard site.
During the three-hour event, more than 300 gift bags were distributed to attendees, many of whom are well below the poverty level, as well as others who are homeless. The gift bags included such items as backpacks, sweatshirts and pants, t-shirts, socks, underwear, hats, toiletries, children’s books and toys…and a hot lunch!
“The partnership between American Career College and West Coast University and the Los Angeles healthcare business community is at the vanguard of the schools’ missions,” said CEO and President David Pyle.
“For more than 10 years,” continued Pyle, “many of our graduates have been hired by the Los Angeles Free Clinic. Also, the Clinic has been an invaluable resource for outstanding clinical skills through ongoing externship programs provided for both ACC and WCU students.”
“And, most importantly, by working closely with institutions like the L.A. Free Clinic and other members of the greater Los Angeles healthcare business community, the schools’ academic programs and services remain updated and relevant to the students who will soon enter the healthcare profession.”
