that ARUP Laboratories, a national reference laboratory and a
worldwide leader in innovative laboratory research and development, is
"live" on Ultimate Software's hosted service model, Intersourcing.
With over 1,900 employees, ARUP's clients include more than half of
the nation's university teaching hospitals and children's hospitals,
major commercial laboratories, military and government facilities, and
major clinics.
An enterprise of the University of Utah and its department of
pathology, ARUP Laboratories wanted comprehensive human resources,
benefits, and payroll functionality, such as robust reporting,
including historical reports, and online tools for managers and
employees that were easy to use. ARUP investigated Ultimate Software's
Intersourcing and went "live" on the solution in January 2007.

Curtis can log onto UltiPro over the Internet from anywhere at any
time to capture workforce analytics. UltiPro includes a library of
more than 600 standard and customizable reports to help businesses
streamline reporting and workforce trending. In addition to the
HR/payroll department, ARUP Laboratories employees have more
information available to them. Because employees can see their checks
and direct deposit information online, ARUP has migrated to a
paperless payroll and is empowering employees with information that is
available over the Internet from home or work. "Employees love
self-service and I've gotten lots of wonderful feedback on it," said
Curtis.
Ultimate Software provided Curtis with a training program,
available on a CD that offers basic instructions to get employees
started on UltiPro's secure employee self-service. The tutorial is
also accessible from Ultimate Software's customer support Web site.
"Using the CD, our employees were shown how to create a password
and log on, input changes, and navigate the system with minimal help.
Employees could learn on their own or attend a very brief training
session hosted by HR/payroll," said Curtis. "The bottom line is that
the solution and the training tools combine to make UltiPro and
Intersourcing a positive experience for everyone."
