American Community Introduces Medalist II(TM), an Affordable PPO Health Insurance Plan

American Community Mutual Insurance Company, a leading provider of Individual and Group health insurance, announced today of the addition of Medalist II(TM), a new affordable health insurance plan for individuals and families in Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Nebraska and Ohio. The new product is available in these states for effective dates of July 1, 2007. It will also be introduced in Arizona, Illinois and Missouri later this summer.

Livonia, Mich (PRWEB) June 1, 2007 -- American Community Mutual Insurance Company, a leading provider of Individual and Group health insurance, announced today of the addition of Medalist II(TM), a new affordable health insurance plan for individuals and families in Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Nebraska and Ohio. The new product is available in these states for effective dates of July 1, 2007. It will also be introduced in Arizona, Illinois and Missouri later this summer.

Medalist II is a new traditional PPO (preferred provider organization) health insurance plan that’s designed to provide more coverage options to meet the policyholder’s needs and budget. “Available in three different plans, Gold, Silver and Bronze, Medalist II is ideal for individuals who are not currently insured under a group health insurance plan, as well as individuals interested in reducing their health insurance premiums,” said Neal Spero, Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer.

Medalist II includes preventive care of up to $1,000 annually per covered family member. The plan allows for choice of doctors and healthcare providers with highest benefits for policyholders who use preferred network providers. American Community offers the following preferred provider choices in each respective state:
·Indiana – PHCS, Sagamore
·Iowa – Midlands Choice
·Michigan – PPOM, Beech Street, Lakeland Care
and PHCS (Private Healthcare Systems)
·Nebraska – Midlands Choice
·Ohio – Medical Mutual, Super Med Plus and PHCS

Medalist II provides an accident benefit that waives the deductible and/ or copay for covered charges incurred within 30 days of injury, along with a common accident benefit that applies only one deductible to covered charges if a single accident injures more than one family member. It also offers an annual eye exam, $5 million lifetime policy maximum and accidental death and dismemberment for the primary insured.

All three plans include Cool Tools(TM) for wellness, including World Doc(TM), an online database that provides medical assistance with health, wellness, preventive and clinical issues. Also provided is a 24-hour Nurseline, along with a treatment cost calculator, web-based medical library, personal health and symptom evaluation tool, prescription drug pricing and research information, hospital cost comparisons and health helper tips.
