Montreal April 4th 2006 - Bell Canada, a Canadian leader in Information,
Communications and Technology (ICT) solutions and its partner
Technomedia Training Inc., the Canadian industry leader in the design
and implementation of web-based talent management and human capital
development solutions, have implemented an online software solution that
integrates performance and competency management for Aeroplan.
Caroline Cyr, manager of organizational performance, Aeroplan, said she
was pleasantly surprised by TM SIGAL ®´s functionality and flexibility,
"we were able to take our existing performance management and competency
management system and put it on the web. The tool has been receiving
many positive reviews, in addition to a significant increase in the
involvement of the performance and competency management processes."
Previously, Aeroplan users and human resource departments were using a
long and tedious paper-based system to manage performance. In addition,
specific tasks associated with the process, such as tracking changes to
the data, could not be performed efficiently.
In order to meet Aeroplan´s needs, Bell and Technomedia proposed a
two-step implementation of Technomedia´s TM SIGAL ® proprietary solution.
During the first phase, the performance and competency management
modules were implemented. Together, they allow for the definition,
tracking and evaluation of individual performance objectives linked to
organizational priorities. The second phase, which is the career and
talent management modules, will allow managers and professionals to
consult the company´s job structure for career orientation purposes.
Furthermore, these modules will facilitate the link between jobs and the
organization´s competencies, towards individualized career paths.
"An innovative technological solution such as TM SIGAL ® allows us to
contribute greatly to the human capital development of our customers,"
said Ronald Nicol, Vice-President - Private Enterprise Accounts at Bell
Canada, "Integrating human resources management systems for our
customers is a key component in Bell Canada´s ICT offer."
"Technomedia is pleased to welcome Aeroplan among our elite group of
customers. By choosing the HR functions of TM SIGAL ®, Aeroplan now uses
our tools which will ensure an effective and sustainable development of
their human capital" said Alain Latry, Technomedia President and CEO.
"They will also benefit from the evolution of our products according to
the specific needs of companies supporting the achievement of HR
Processes"
