Toronto, April 11, 2006 -- Four Canadian entrepreneurs drowning in paperwork will soon be thrown a small business lifeline. But first, they´ll need to beat out other upstarts from across Canada competing in ADP Canada´s Extreme Business Makeover- a contest that will award an administrative get-out-of-jail-free card to the winners.
To enter the contest, Canadian business owners are invited to make a short submission at www.adp.ca/makeover answering "when it comes to running your business, what is the one thing that keeps you up at night?" and explaining why they deserve an Extreme Business Makeover. If they spend more time clocking employee hours than attracting customers to their new store, for example, this contest is for them.
After reviewing all submissions, a panel of judges will select four companies to receive a selection of ADP employer services, including payroll, HR, and time and labour management, free for one year.
"Many new businesses fail because entrepreneurs spend too much time on administrative tasks and not enough time on growth strategies," said Professor Ajay Sirsi of the Schulich School of Business who consults regularly with small- and medium-sized businesses. "Instead of asking themselves if they can afford to outsource administrative tasks, entrepreneurs should be asking themselves if they can afford not to."
