Livonia, Mich., May 8, 2007 – A. M. Best Company has reaffirmed American Community Mutual Insurance Company’s B+ financial rating, as of May 3, 2007. The Best Rating is a nationally recognized, independent third-party opinion, based on a comprehensive evaluation of a company’s balance sheet strength, operating performance and business profile. American Community is a leading provider of individual and group health insurance and markets products in eight states through an agency force of 6,000 independent agents.

According to A.M. Best, “The rating assignment of American Community reflects its generally favorable operating results, a favorable risk-adjusted surplus position maintained, and corrective actions implemented to improve future operating results.” The company’s surplus is in excess of $106 million.
