Although the economy had adversely affected our businesses in those cities, “an aggregate increase in unemployment taxes by 241.97% on a year to year basis destroyed all profitability that we had been able to maintain in those cities,” according to Treadmill Doctor President Clark Stevenson.
These closures will be effective immediately and will end the jobs of 5 hardworking individuals. “We are profoundly saddened to lose these high quality people but due to the increases in unemployment taxes, we are not going to be able to maintain unprofitable portions of our business when we have many other profitable areas in which we can continue to provide jobs to other hard working people and maintain a positive profit margin.”
Treadmill Doctor will maintain our local service locations in Memphis, TN and Nashville, TN on an ongoing basis.” “We have been able to maintain an acceptable profit margin in those cities but the impact of the tax increase is still something that we have been severely impacted by when considering overall profitability.”
