CHICAGO (July 22, 2010) -- A diverse group of leaders, including CVS Caremark President and COO Larry Merlo, futurist Edie Weiner and retired Lt. Col. Consuelo Kickbusch, will share their personal experiences and business insights at the Network of Executive Women's Leadership Summit 2010, Sept. 27–29 in Charlotte. The Network is the consumer products and retail industry's largest diversity organization.

Merlo will welcome more than 700 Network members at the Summit’s opening reception, Monday, Sept. 27 at the Westin Charlotte. The event will "provide tools to help cpg/retail executives transform their careers, lives and companies to better profit from the consumer industry’s ‘new normal,’” according to the Network.

The Summit will also include three SuperSessions, a "generations at work” roundtable, networking opportunities and optional events, including Retail Safari® store tours and a Deep Dive Career Day.

Weiner, one of the country's top futurists, will explore the demographic, cultural, economic and technological changes remaking the business landscape in the Summit’s opening keynote. The co-author of FutureThink and The Insider's Guide to the Future will outline changes and opportunities affecting marketing, product development, strategic planning and talent management.

Kickbusch will provide the Summit's closing keynote address, with lessons learned from her hardscrabble upbringing in Laredo, Texas and a groundbreaking career in the U.S. Army. "Her passionate, humorous, interactive presentation will help attendees identify and achieve their personal vision by living their legacies every day,” the Network reported.

The three-day event also includes three SuperSessions, featuring Bill Fournet, corporate strategist and president and CEO of the Persimmon Group; Kevin Coupe, journalist, author and industry blogger at MorningNewsBeat.com; and DeLores Pressley, a consultant and coach specializing in building relationships.

Fournet will provide practical techniques to help members harness today’s multigenerational, multicultural workforce and lead high-performance work teams in this time of accelerated change. Coupe’s SuperSession will describe how successful companies have remained relevant in a fast-moving change environment. Pressley will focus on ways that NEW members can advance their careers and their organizing using new and traditional networking methods.

Author Fawn Germer will moderate a bonus roundtable of multigenerational panelists, who will provide different perspectives on the recession and how it has challenged them as leaders and individuals.
