Cammack LaRhette Consulting is launching its 403(b) Learning Series to help Plan Sponsors better understand their responsibilities and better manage their retirement plans in a time when 403(b) plans are under pressure from government regulation, media attention and legal challenges.
New York, NY (June 27, 2007) Cammack LaRhette Consulting is launching its 403(b) Learning Series to help Plan Sponsors better understand their responsibilities and better manage their retirement plans in a time when 403(b) plans are under pressure from government regulation, media attention and legal challenges.
For employers in the nonprofit arena, the 403(b) Learning Series will help them gain a better understanding of a cost-effective, competitive plan for employees. The 403(b) Learning Series will begin with a broad range of informative and thought provoking articles written by both Cammack LaRhette’s consulting staff and by noted guest authors.
The series will cover, for example, how instituting a Fiduciary Due Diligence Process gives employers the ability to provide meaningful oversight to their investment providers, improve fund performance and employee satisfaction with the plan. Another planned topic is how the consolidation of 403(b) service providers can allow an organization to use participants’ aggregate plan assets to bring down fees and administrative expenses. Additional articles in the series will include: “What’s In, What’s Out,” “Am I a Fiduciary?” “Top Plan Sponsor Mistakes,” “Too Many Funds,” and ”Fee Disclosure.”
According to Jeffrey A. Levy, EA, MAAA, Cammack LaRhette’s Retirement Practice Leader, “In light of the heightened level of fiduciary scrutiny today, the bar has been raised for all defined contribution plan sponsors to fulfill their fiduciary responsibilities.” Mr. Levy continues, “We have worked with numerous employers (whether a non-ERISA plan and subject to state fiduciary laws, or an ERISA plan) to help them step up to the plate to not only satisfy their fiduciary responsibilities, but also to give them a roadmap to a more cost-effective, competitive program for their employees over the long term.”
As soon as the long awaited 403(b) regulations are final, Cammack LaRhette will provide an analysis of what a plan sponsor needs to do to comply with the new regulations. Workshops and other meetings are also on the drawing board to help employers gain a practical perspective on how the regulations will affect their retirement plans and what actions they should take.
The 403(b) Learning Series will be available on Cammack LaRhette’s Website, www.clcinc.com starting Friday, June 29, 2007. Interested plan sponsors can also sign up to receive further information.
