(November 17, 2009) New York, NY – For the second year in a row, national entrepreneur community and agency Collective-E is urging shoppers looking to spend money both online and in brick and mortar stores to “Buy Entrepreneur” and support local and national small businesses with their dollars. With millions in the United States currently self-employed or employed by small business owners and nearly as many feeling the impact of the recession, the company and its founders stress that now more than ever is the time to support the spirit of entrepreneurship for the holiday season and beyond.
With Black Friday - traditionally the busiest holiday season of the year – looming, many small business owners are hoping to bring in sales and business that will account for a large portion of their annual revenue. Collective-E reports that members nationwide are gearing up for what they hope to be a season of healthy shopping activity from both current customers and new clientele. The on and offline home for entrepreneurs began their Buy Entrepreneur movement during holiday 2008 and this year again they encourage shoppers to spend wisely, spend well and spend on entrepreneurs who give back to America in goods, services and employment.
Says Collective-E co-founder & Chief Excitement Officer Sabina Ptacin, “Small business and entrepreneurs are part of the fabric of our country, and many are now in danger of losing their companies that are not only bringing us new and innovative brands, but also employing people nationwide. They are your neighbors, your parents, your friends and vital members of our communities. Whereas we used to hear the phrase “Made in America” we hope Americans will also begin to support the sentiment “Buy Entrepreneur”.
Co-founder Beth Schoenfeldt adds, “The scope and possibility of products and services created and supplied by small businesses in this country one has access to these days is enormous. They stretch from crafters and local artisans to nationally recognized brands. The options are endless and your purchasing power helps them continue to thrive, and supply the market with the innovative ideas everyone wants to find wrapped under their tree this season and beyond.”
To assist consumers that are hoping to support the Buy Entrepreneur Movement with their pocketbooks, the group is urging consumers to make simple changes in their buying habits such as:
Visit online entrepreneurial resources such as Collective-E.com & Etsy.com during their holiday shopping

Support local small businesses and boutiques while shopping this season and beyond.
Visit local craft and independent design fairs.
Look for the “Buy Entrepreneur” sticker on websites you frequent – support those who have joined or support the movement!
