2008 Brandon Hall Research Innovations in Learning Conference Announced

Conference sessions will focus on new trends such as podcasts, games, and social networking
January 22, 2008, SUNNYVALE, Calif. – Brandon Hall Research announced today that the 2008 Brandon Hall Research Innovations in Learning Conference will take place September 25 and 26, 2008 at the Fairmont San Jose, in San Jose, Calif.; a pre-conference day of workshops is planned for Wednesday, September 24, 2008. The theme of this year's conference is "Get your Head in the Clouds."

The 2008 conference will build on the success of last year's event, which was Brandon Hall Research's first conference. Last year, more than 400 people attended the event, which was held in Santa Clara, Calif. According to Brandon Hall, Chairman of Brandon Hall Research, "Attendees to last year's conference reported that they really liked the ability to try out innovative learning technologies. So, the focus this year will again be on providing hands-on experience with the latest technologies."

Keynote speakers for the 2008 conference include:

Lance Dublin — a recognized leader in applying strategic thinking and design to the worlds of training and learning, change management and communications, innovation, and organizational development.
Lisa Johnson — an award-winning expert on women and the “Connected Generation,” who uses stories, industry case studies, and humor to help brands deeply understand the buying power and behavior of this renegade group of consumers.
Faith LeGendre — who, as training director, transformed 1800flowers.com from an organization with no formal training strategy to a company that has made learning central to its values.
Conference sessions will focus on new trends in learning, including podcasting, social networking, games and play, blogs and wikis, new collaboration technologies, video, innovative hardware, mobile learning, and instructional games, to name just a few.

The 2008 Innovations in Learning Conference will again play host to the Brandon Hall Excellence in Learning Awards ceremony. Winners of the 2008 Awards will be announced on September 25. The Awards ceremony will mark the 14th year in which Brandon Hall Research has recognized the best in innovative workplace learning.
