Having The Courage To Break Away From The Pack
At all times in life, do what you personally think is important, irrespective of what others might tell you. Part of being an individual is having the ability and the courage to break out of the mold. The same is true of successful companies.

Gut-feel and intuition play an important role in business decisions, and the people who live by the adage ‘if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it’ are the ones who get left behind – so trust your judgment and go for it.   Business is about taking risks, which requires courage. When you have a new idea, develop it, test it, and then move decisively. Don’t wait, because the longer you procrastinate the more ground you are conceding to your rivals.   Maintain faith in your idea at all times; in the early days people will tell you it can’t be done, but don’t listen to detractors. Be persistent, and always believe you have the right product, as your self-belief will win through in the end.

    Communicating for Managerial Effectiveness
It is Clampitt’s premise that because communication is at the core of managerial effectiveness, mangers must have a clear view of their abilities to communicate and the challenges involved in the process; however, this is not an easy task. First, new perspectives continuously emerge whose implications are not yet fully known. Second because everyone communicates, people tend to believe that no special expertise is necessarily required to speck on the subject. As a result, most training does not even begin to address the many challenges organizations must face; thus, their communication systems continue to break down-often with tragic results.
