While more data and tools are available than ever before, practitioners continue to struggle with the fundamental questions of what data to collect, how to report it, and how best use it. Many talent professionals, in particular, struggle with how to create reports that show alignment and impact for their important work. Historically, the talent development field has had no agreed-upon standards to answer these questions. Talent Development Reporting Principles (TDRp) is an industry-led initiative to develop and implement internal reporting and management standards for all key human capital processes like L&D, talent acquisition, and leadership development. In short, TDRp is designed to help you plan, measure, and manage to deliver business impact for your organization.

During this webinar, you will be introduced to TDRp, including a brief history, the conceptual framework, basic measures, and the standard statements and reports. You will learn

  • How to use TDRp to show alignment and expected impact of talent initiatives
  • How to organize measures into three standard TDRp statements
  • How to create management reports from the key measures in the three statements
  • How to manage talent like a business

Organizations are using more and more technology to automate their recruiting processes. Online assessments, candidate relationship management, social sourcing and video interviewing are all being deployed to reduce the time and cost associated with recruiting. While these solutions may improve the process of recruiting, it’s important for HR professionals to ensure that new technology does not inadvertently introduce new types of bias that have a negative effect on recruiting quality and overall business performance. Bias in recruiting is not new. HR professionals have long worked to identify and remove biases from the recruiting process. HR professionals are well versed in racial and gender bias and the negative consequences resulting from both. But in many cases HR professionals are unaware of other kinds of bias and need the basic tools and techniques required to find and correct those biases. This webinar will describe several types of bias and teach a few basic skills needed to analyze recruiting data to identify and reduce these biases. Attendees do not need advanced math degrees or good grades in Statistics to attend.

Data for data’s sake is not valuable.

As our Director of Research, Dr. John Mattox, puts it, “data is valuable when it is connected to other data sets, analyzed and explored until it gives up its secrets. Those secrets—hidden nuggets of information—are critical for learning and talent management.”

Many HR organizations are beginning to embrace the promise of Big Data to help transform the way they recruit, retain and develop top talent.

This presentation will define ‘Big Data’ and its impact on organizational decision-making. It will then focus on defining talent development processes that house big data and identifying data sources and classification of metrics to transform data into wisdom through timely, credible, predictive analytics.
