In this 1 hour session, Eric Papp, Consultant and Management Trainer will show participants how to communicate your message, so others understand and respond to it. Many people are talking today, and few are actually connecting and communicating.

This webinar will teach participants the skills it takes to be a great listener and why these skills are paramount in becoming an effective communicator. Participants will become aware of how they and their message are occurring to others.

Eric will also share the importance of questions. He will focus on the questions that people DON’T ask and how it costs them their valuable time. By learning to ask the right questions and participate in active listening, attendees will learn how to fully engage their employees and create a workforce of creative and forthcoming workers. You’ll learn how to obtain more information by asking open-ended questions. If you apply the skills taught in this webinar it will save you both time and money in getting what you want.

Conventional wisdom says that the direct manager is the person who has the most responsibility for engaging employees. If that is the case, our direct managers are failing us miserably. According to Modern Survey’s Spring 2014 Study of U.S. Workforce Engagement, only 13% of employees are fully engaged with another 27% being moderately engaged. That leaves the remaining employees under engaged (36%) and disengaged (24%). Any CEO, HR professional, or business leader should look at these numbers with disgust. The truth is that employee engagement is a shared responsibility. The organization plays a role. Leaders - both direct managers and senior leaders - have a responsibility. Finally, individual employees make choices about whether or not they will bring their best to work every day. Getting employees to own their engagement makes a great deal of sense, but few organizations have gotten a handle on doing it right. This webinar will provide a pathway for how you can influence employees that engagement is not only their responsibility, becoming engaged is one of the most important things they can do to live happy, healthy, fulfilling lives. During this webinar, Modern Survey's President, Don MacPherson, will share how to build a culture by getting every employee to own their engagement and sharing in the responsibility of motivating and engaging their teammates. In addition, attendees will walk away with a clear understanding of how the organization makes engagement possible and how leaders can drive engagement within their teams. If having an engaged workforce is critical to your organization's success, this is a webinar you don't want to miss!

Dr Tim Baker's new book - "Attracting and retaining Talent: Becoming and Employer of Choice" identified eight values that all employers of choice adhere to. These eight values are: • flexible deployment, • customer focus, • performance focus, • project-based work, • human spirit and work, • commitment, • learning and development, and • open information. This presentation looks at the changing employment relationship and how that is the critical linchpin for creating an organizational culture that supports an employer of choice. Becoming an employer of choice is much more than a marketing slogan; it is fundamentally about creating a new culture that serves the changing needs and interests of employee and employer.

With so many different types of HR software in use, it’s hard to make useful business decisions based on all of the data that’s available to us. This is because all of these pieces of software have their own reporting systems, and almost none of them are able to communicate with each other. The Tin Can API changes that. It’s a language that all HR, training, and learning platforms can speak, so they can share one common reporting system and help you learn things about your organization that weren’t possible before—including correlating real-world performance data with learning and HR data.
