While big data analysis introduces enormous opportunity for talent management, it also presents a lot of questions and concerns. Even the White House weighed in on the matter in its recent Big Data report, calling for more privacy and further investigation into potential discrimination when used in hiring. What does this all mean for HR leaders?

Join workforce scientist, Dr. Michael Housman, and employment law expert, Marko Mrkonich, in this educational webinar that will explore the what, why and how predictive analytics and big data can be applied to the workforce. You will learn:

  • Best practices for collecting and using big data
  • How to apply big data to employment decisions
  • How to identify and avoid disparate impact
  • How big data and predictive technology can be used to remove bias in the workforce, not create it
  • How companies are using job tests and assessments to reduce their risk of lawsuits
  • How to prepare for the likely changes that were signaled by the White House Big Data Report

While more data and tools are available than ever before, practitioners continue to struggle with the fundamental questions of what data to collect, how to report it, and how best use it. Many talent professionals, in particular, struggle with how to create reports that show alignment and impact for their important work. Historically, the talent development field has had no agreed-upon standards to answer these questions. Talent Development Reporting Principles (TDRp) is an industry-led initiative to develop and implement internal reporting and management standards for all key human capital processes like L&D, talent acquisition, and leadership development. In short, TDRp is designed to help you plan, measure, and manage to deliver business impact for your organization.

During this webinar, you will be introduced to TDRp, including a brief history, the conceptual framework, basic measures, and the standard statements and reports. You will learn

  • How to use TDRp to show alignment and expected impact of talent initiatives
  • How to organize measures into three standard TDRp statements
  • How to create management reports from the key measures in the three statements
  • How to manage talent like a business

Conventional wisdom says that the direct manager is the person who has the most responsibility for engaging employees. If that is the case, our direct managers are failing us miserably. According to Modern Survey’s Spring 2014 Study of U.S. Workforce Engagement, only 13% of employees are fully engaged with another 27% being moderately engaged. That leaves the remaining employees under engaged (36%) and disengaged (24%). Any CEO, HR professional, or business leader should look at these numbers with disgust. The truth is that employee engagement is a shared responsibility. The organization plays a role. Leaders - both direct managers and senior leaders - have a responsibility. Finally, individual employees make choices about whether or not they will bring their best to work every day. Getting employees to own their engagement makes a great deal of sense, but few organizations have gotten a handle on doing it right. This webinar will provide a pathway for how you can influence employees that engagement is not only their responsibility, becoming engaged is one of the most important things they can do to live happy, healthy, fulfilling lives. During this webinar, Modern Survey's President, Don MacPherson, will share how to build a culture by getting every employee to own their engagement and sharing in the responsibility of motivating and engaging their teammates. In addition, attendees will walk away with a clear understanding of how the organization makes engagement possible and how leaders can drive engagement within their teams. If having an engaged workforce is critical to your organization's success, this is a webinar you don't want to miss!
