What is the role of a C-Level in the sales compensation design process? To poke his head into a conference room and ask a few questions, or to become involved at certain key points? After all, sales compensation the single biggest expense for most companies with the motivational power to move financial mountains, but many executives squander this opportunity to connect the business strategy to the sales organization. Based on the new book What Your CEO Needs to Know About Sales Compensation, author and managing partner of SalesGlobe Mark Donnolo outlines when and why highly successful companies involve the C-level in the design and implementation of their comp plans.

Since the financial crisis of 2008, financial services firms are giving more attention to deferred compensation as a way to reduce risk and be in compliance with evolving regulations that require transparency and auditability. However, managing the administration of deferred compensation, especially in a compliant way, is complex, and most home grown, Excel-based, and packaged compensation systems were not designed to handle this complexity. This session is aimed at helping those who are tasked with managing deferred compensation and other forms of executive comp to understand what is needed in terms of a compensation system to administer these processes. The system needs to provide an easy way to manage complex schemes that are conditional based on the multi-year performance of the individual, the division, the company and the market over a 3 to 5 year period. It should allow for simulation and scenario building, and needs to provide robust reporting and analytics. All calculations, payouts, and changes must be transparent and auditable. And given that regulations and strategies may be constantly changing, the system needs to be easily adaptable to change in a way that can be handled by the compensation manager. The session will provide examples from some financial institutions who are using new technology to manage deferred compensation effectively.

As a payroll manager, you are faced with many external and internal forces driving your decisions. Although your goal may be 100% direct deposit, you must navigate issues of compliance to reach that benchmark. By putting processes into place that proactively address said issues while streamlining your operations, you will make your life easier. At TFG Card Solutions, we closely follow issues of compliance surrounding direct deposit and pay cards and will share our collective knowledge in this webinar.

In this webinar we will cover hot topics in the payroll industry including direct deposit legislation around the country and the increasing need for pay cards. If your goal is 100% direct deposit and paperless payroll, you will need to know about electronic pay stubs for your employees.

Discussion will include best practices, requirements, and compliance surrounding pay stubs. Our final topic will answer the question, how does one go about choosing the best pay card provider? What should you look for in a vendor? With so many vendors out there, it can be difficult to find the one whose services fit the needs of your organization and those of your employees, the cardholder.
Since 2004, TFG Card Solutions has helped over 1,900 US employers of all sizes eliminate paper checks by providing a two-pronged approach:

  1. Provide a first rate value offering that employers and employees can be excited about
  2. Assist our extremely busy clientele with effective marketing tools to message the enhanced benefit offering and company initiative.

Organizations nationwide seek to continuously improve performance and motivation, while simultaneously reducing costs. This arduous task often becomes the responsibility of the Human Resources (HR). Without effective systems in place and data available, employee compensation can run counter to efficiency and performance objectives set by the organization. The implementation of market-based pay structures is increasingly necessary in order for organizations to remain competitive, administer compensation fairly and easily and allocate limited financial resources where they are most needed.

This presentation will review best-practice steps to compensation system design. During the presentation, attendees will be introduced to:

  • Turnover in the rebounding economy
  • Compensation economics 101
  • Review steps for designing a market-based compensation system
  • Recognition and sustaining high performance through a merit matrix
