A recent study by KnowledgeAdvisors, a CEB Company, shows that very few organizations gather and leverage evaluative information. Except for training efficiency, talent measures are gathered by less than 50% of organizations surveyed. The same study found that there is a growing demand for talent analytics—as you might expect when 71% of CEOs believe that human capital is critical for business success.

Talent analytics can effectively be used to drive measurable improvements in your crucial human capital investments and strategies, including programs like on-boarding, learning, leadership, capabilities development and performance. Organizations that measure and manage talent build competitive advantage, and it is essential to have a talent analytics strategy and the right tools to measure the effectiveness of talent processes.

This presentation will provide creative insights to help organizations understand the barriers to effective talent measurement, but also helping to define what comprises talent measurement. The session will discuss key performance indicators and provide case examples of what companies are measuring and their process to produce the metrics.

Does your organization view training as an expense versus an investment with predicted return? Do you need to link training with the value it produces for your company?

In this session, training and evaluation expert Dave Basarab will spotlight Predictive Evaluation (PE), the first and only training and evaluation approach to add the element of prediction. Using Dave’s innovative PE Model, trainers and business leaders can successfully predict training’s results, value, intention, adoption and impact, allowing them to make smarter, more strategic training and evaluation investments. PE enables trainers to accurately forecast and measure training’s value, track progress and clearly report the results.

Gathering feedback and using it appropriately is essential to assessing the current state of your organization, ensuring buy-in for change, and ultimately making the improvements that will drive a breakthrough.

In the Human Resources sphere when discussing feedback we usually think of how we conduct the ‘annual employee survey’ when we gather data in an attempt to measure engagement levels across the entire organization.

Managing this process is crucial and while many organizations are collecting the data they are not applying what they learn in ways that contribute to meaningful and substantive change.

Join us as we explore the key things you should do in order to achieve breakthroughs in performance and innovation and how you can use the insights you gain to seize the opportunities for improvement.

Gamification is one of the hottest trends in learning and development. Is it just a buzzword or a trend as one leading expert argues, or does it offer richer, more interactive, and more effective ways to develop people? Decide for yourself after attending this session. Dr. Robert Becker will cover the why, when and how of gamification, focusing on the transformation of traditional or legacy courseware into more engaging game-based learning. You will not learn how to design video games in this session, but you will learn how to gamify your instructional design if the gamification of training is right for you.

Did you know that within the first 48 hours of your employees attending a traditional training or learning event, their knowledge retention drops to 33 percent? Did you also know that research now shows that nearly 80 percent of learning in the workplace takes place informally? So why are training departments still spending the vast majority of their budgets on formal training efforts? Informal Learning has become all the rage over the past 5 years in the Learning and Development industry. As we’ve taken a closer look at this powerful discipline we’ve learned that Informal learning can actually be “formalized”, tracked, measured, and implemented through Performance Support. This session will address the methodologies behind designing, implementing, and maintaining effective Performance Support (learning while doing), and how it is now, more than ever, all around us!

In order for organizations to increase the effectiveness of their learning programs, they first have to benchmark the learning transfer and performance impact of each one. Many organizations have a number of implemented learning programs that have been in place for years, but sometimes have little-to-no evidence that they truly impact performance. The days of that scenario are numbered, as learning analytics and business impact metrics become more prevalent.

This session will include a case study showing how leveraging new learning models, including online simulations and game-based elearning, increased proficiency in critical soft skills/business skills over previously-implemented traditional learning programs.

Same skills, taught differently, resulted in improved performance.

The Millennial generation learners are rapidly growing in numbers and forcing significant organizational change. They are impatient, unimpressed with hierarchy, and want to be heard. They have grown up with Google, and are accustomed to “instant gratification.” Consequently, it is critical to evolve our learning platforms to meet their learning needs as they become an increasingly important part of our workforce. Are you really ready for them? Are your learning platforms designed to serve them? This session will outline:
  • The essential expectations of this new generation of learners
  • How we must evolve our training approach to address this change
  • What learning functionality addresses their needs and expectation
  • How phrases like data analytics, contextual information, and adaptive outreach become just as important to the learning community as they've become to marketing and sales
  • How business performance is redefined and learning's role is re-evaluated
