Only 13% of the workforce is fully engaged according to Modern Survey’s March 2014 U.S. Workforce Study of Employee Engagement, while nearly a quarter of all employees are disengaged. With numbers like these, it is clear that meeting organizational goals is going to be challenging for many organizations. For a handful of organizations, however, getting exceptional performance from their employees is no longer a challenge.

If you are interested in learning how the world's most extraordinary and successful organizations recruit, onboard, empower, and engage their employees, this webinar is for you. You will hear how popular organizations like Zappos, The Ritz-Carlton, the United States Navy SEALs have created an employee first culture. You will also hear about employee best practices from organizations less known, but equally successful, and how you can apply these practices at your organization.

Don MacPherson, President and Co-Founder of Modern Survey, is an employee engagement and performance expert. Over the last 18 years of his career, he has been studying how employees are the great differentiators in successful organizations. This is no accident. These organizations have systematically put in processes and procedures to ensure they attract the right talent and turn potential into performance.

When is the last time you were a new employee? The experience is a little frightening, anxiety-inducing, exciting, and filled with hope and enthusiasm. If you think about it, it's a lot like going on a first date. The employee will wonder if they have made the right decision by joining their new company, they will hope there is a bright future with the company, and they hope their expectations are going to be met. These are the same thoughts and feelings you feel when you go on that first date.

The key in both cases is to turn the enthusiasm into engagement. Enthusiasm is fleeting. Engagement stands the test of time. Too often in our organizations we fail at this. We oversell the opportunity, we fail to prepare for the new employee's arrival, and we don't properly train the employee so they can contribute. It's no surprise that when these failures occur enthusiasm evaporates and the new employee is second guessing their decision.

In this webinar, Modern Survey's President, Don MacPherson, will discuss the importance of new employee onboarding, share onboarding horror stories, talk about whose responsibility it is to onboard employees, and lay out a series of best practices that can be put in place to make the onboarding experience extraordinary for every new employee at your organization. After all, the goal is to turn the enthusiasm new employees have into engagement and a love the employee has for their new company. Tune into this webinar and we will help you fix the onboarding process at your organization...fixing the issues on first dates will have to be reserved for another day!

Engagement vs Productivity? Chicken or Egg? Which Can HR Really Impact?

Much has been said about employee engagement – or the pervasive disengagement of the modern workforce – yet companies cannot control many of the factors that go into people’s propensity to be engaged, such as intrinsic motivation, individual job selection, and absolute opportunities available for advancement. What HR can do is reorient itself around enabling workforce productivity through establishing a culture and infrastructure of collaboration, knowledge-sharing, and career development that helps people adapt to the constant change and complexity of the modern workplace and stay focused on driving business results.

Recent studies show that disengaged employees cost the U.S. over $450 billion in lost productivity each year. As the economy and companies continue to recover new growth requires employees that are committed to their organization, willing to spur innovation with new ideas and concepts, and who operate with enthusiasm as they naturally pursue success.

In this webinar we’ll explore the exciting topic of emotional intelligence and how it intrinsically provides the employee a foundation to build qualities, characteristics, and behaviors that lead to greater individual engagement. We’ll look at the world’s first scientifically validated model of emotional intelligence the EQ-i 2.0 and understand how employee engagement connects to specific skills in emotional intelligence. Lastly, we’ll review a plan to cultivate our emotional intelligence skills and empower employees for greater engagement.

Employee engagement is improving, disengagement is dropping, and the drivers of employee engagement have continued to shift since the end of the recession. These are just a few of the highlights from Modern Survey's U.S. Workforce Employee Engagement Study.

Every six months Modern Survey conducts a random sample study of full-time workers to determine the State of Employee Engagement. Join Modern Survey's President, Don MacPherson, as he reveals the findings from the March 2014 study.

The webinar will show how engagement levels are trending in a positive direction and explore the reasons why that is happening. Employee disengagement, which is at its lowest point since this study was started in 2007, will be looked at as well.

Now there is a way for leaders at all levels to develop unwavering optimism, personal magnetism, and unshakeable sense of self-confidence to make remarkable results happen.

When you LEAD POSITIVE you zoom in on what is strong, valuable, and possible. What you see, say, and do inspires those around you to walk together toward a new positive direction. While conventional approaches focus on showing leaders how to acquire industry expertise, strategic capability, and operational savvy, LEAD POSITIVE is an internal development process that zeros in on transforming what the leader sees, says, and does. In short, this approach helps leaders to shift internally so they can excel externally. During this hour-long webinar, Dr. Kathy Cramer, author of Lead Positive: What Highly Effective Leaders See, Say, and Do and founder of Asset-Based Thinking, will present recent findings in neuroscience and positive psychology together with the experiences of exemplary leaders to make these motivational leadership strategies come alive.

Highly engaged employees help to build and sustain a culture where people want to work and are excited to deliver great results. In return, employees have a positive impact on our relationships with customers, suppliers and communities. At Ingersoll Rand, they understand, appreciate and embrace their differences and use these strengths to continuously improve their business. In 2012, Ingersoll Rand rapidly deployed The Ingersoll Rand Leader: Engaging Your Employees (EYE) training to a global audience and found that leaders attending the training session had an increase in engagement scores two times higher than their counterparts who did not attend the program. To enhance the support the managers, the company also created an on-line and simple support site that highlighted just a few critical tools and activities managers could take, aligned with content from EYE. To leverage the leader’s role in engagement, they also worked to improve engagement by providing coaching to help managers engage employees on what matters most to them and focus local accountability to drive more tailored and meaningful actions. In this session, learn more about Ingersoll Rand’s efforts to grow engagement, hear more about the crucial role played by leaders, and how their formula for success could be applied inside your organization.
