Research shows that emotional intelligence is more important than IQ or technical expertise in the business world. When it comes to accomplishing goals, spurring innovation and developing stronger competitive positions, employees’ ability to collaborate effectively is paramount, and people with a high EQ have proven to be the most effective collaborators in the workplace.

The business case for EQ is clear:

  • An insurance company found the average policy value sold by agents with high EQ was twice that of agents with low EQ.
  • A study of 500 executive search candidates identified emotional competence as a better predictor of placement success than intelligence or prior experience.
  • A consumer products company found a “strong relationship” between superior performing leaders and emotional competence.
This interactive, online event will improve individual and organizational EQ.

Participants will learn:

  • The latest research on emotional intelligence and its connection to performance
  • 7 strategies for improving EQ
  • The link between behaviors and emotions
  • How senior leaders influence EQ in others

Whether you are an existing or aspiring leader, your are expected to have business acumen. So simply being smart and good at what you do is not the recipe for leadership. Sure, it’s part of the mix, but not the key ingredient – at least for the new way of leadership. What sets a leader apart from a manager (or other any other positional title that involves having authority and power over others) are your intrapersonal skills and effectiveness.

In this webinar, you will learn the fundamental building blocks for leadership proficiency – “intra”personal skills, and how you can master them.

By our natural behaviors (personality), most of us are talented to either get results or build relationships; but we need to do both. The majority of leadership issues can be traced to this imbalance. In this webinar, you’ll learn that leadership imbalance is measurable and predictable and be equipped to assess and then coach others to a better balance.

The basis for the presentation and discussion will be the Leadership Behavior DNA™ online assessment which is provided. Participants will need to self-register and complete this online discovery tool (20 minutes) and print/review their report (17 pages) prior to the event. To access this complimentary online assessment , please follow this link: www.LeeEllis.us/HR

Only 13% of the workforce is fully engaged according to Modern Survey’s March 2014 U.S. Workforce Study of Employee Engagement, while nearly a quarter of all employees are disengaged. With numbers like these, it is clear that meeting organizational goals is going to be challenging for many organizations. For a handful of organizations, however, getting exceptional performance from their employees is no longer a challenge.

If you are interested in learning how the world's most extraordinary and successful organizations recruit, onboard, empower, and engage their employees, this webinar is for you. You will hear how popular organizations like Zappos, The Ritz-Carlton, the United States Navy SEALs have created an employee first culture. You will also hear about employee best practices from organizations less known, but equally successful, and how you can apply these practices at your organization.

Don MacPherson, President and Co-Founder of Modern Survey, is an employee engagement and performance expert. Over the last 18 years of his career, he has been studying how employees are the great differentiators in successful organizations. This is no accident. These organizations have systematically put in processes and procedures to ensure they attract the right talent and turn potential into performance.

"What was most valuable about the Box of Crayons webinars was the ability to find that middle ground where practical techniques have relevant application. We could take some useful theory and then give people simple and sticky language they can use as a common way of communicating with each other and bring a sense of simplicity to tough problems."

When is the last time you were a new employee? The experience is a little frightening, anxiety-inducing, exciting, and filled with hope and enthusiasm. If you think about it, it's a lot like going on a first date. The employee will wonder if they have made the right decision by joining their new company, they will hope there is a bright future with the company, and they hope their expectations are going to be met. These are the same thoughts and feelings you feel when you go on that first date.

The key in both cases is to turn the enthusiasm into engagement. Enthusiasm is fleeting. Engagement stands the test of time. Too often in our organizations we fail at this. We oversell the opportunity, we fail to prepare for the new employee's arrival, and we don't properly train the employee so they can contribute. It's no surprise that when these failures occur enthusiasm evaporates and the new employee is second guessing their decision.

In this webinar, Modern Survey's President, Don MacPherson, will discuss the importance of new employee onboarding, share onboarding horror stories, talk about whose responsibility it is to onboard employees, and lay out a series of best practices that can be put in place to make the onboarding experience extraordinary for every new employee at your organization. After all, the goal is to turn the enthusiasm new employees have into engagement and a love the employee has for their new company. Tune into this webinar and we will help you fix the onboarding process at your organization...fixing the issues on first dates will have to be reserved for another day!

The first half of this webinar will discuss how three trends and innovations in the employee engagement space are revolutionizing the way organizational health is being measured and how leaders act on the feedback they receive. The second half of the webinar will focus on how organizations are using their engagement data along with other key metrics like performance, onboarding effectiveness, leadership, and demographics data to create a set of predictive analytics that anticipates employee behavior before it occurs so you can act first rather than react. If you are interested in how the trends and innovations around employee measurement today will change the way HR works tomorrow, this is the webinar for you.

When two or more gather, insanity ensues! Who among us has not said to ourselves "this place is crazy" at least once a week, if not daily?

Believe it or not, we are just doing what we were taught to do by our parents, teachers and workplaces. The good news is that the insanity can stop; the bad news is that every individual in the workplace has to embrace 4 simple practices that can eradicate craziness overnight.

Come to this session ready to learn the 4 practices and open to look at why and what you do to contribute to workplace insanity. You’ll be motivated to put these practices into action only after you have a few good laughs, understand what’s really going on in you and others and see how simple the practices really are.

A recent study by Booz & Company highlighted that 96% of respondents believed culture change was needed in their organization and 51% need a “major culture overhaul.” It’s clear most leaders do not fully understand how to effectively manage culture change with clarity.

There are very specific techniques to effectively manage performance priorities, challenges or goals based on an organization’s unique culture. These techniques are not widely understood but they are the key to sequencing and prioritizing improvements to have the maximum impact on performance. Each participant will learn culture fundamentals and complete a one page culture alignment roadmap in order to highlight specific gaps and improvement approaches that would have a direct impact on performance.
