Using Emotional Intelligence Skills to Inspire, Motivate and "Engage" Employees
To lead effectively, achieve goals and generate successful financial results in today’s business climate, supervisors, managers and executives must rely on team commitment and performance. In order to maximize both team and individual employee performance leaders must create an environment and work culture where everyone supports one another, communicates openly and contributes to the best of their ability. This is not always easy given the broad workforce demographic, generational and gender differences, shifting priorities, changing job roles and responsibilities as well as different employee aspirations, unique personalities and backgrounds. As a leader you must be able to understand and appreciate these differences to not only utilize everyone’s strengths in ways that ensure performance targets are met but also successfully address the challenges, conflicts and problems that arise so that these issues do not derail the process or create insurmountable obstacles. Effective leaders nurture, develop and cultivate employees who are motivated, enthusiastic, inspired and engaged with the tasks at hand –all of which require that employees have an emotional and vested interest in departmental and team goals. Remember the old adage “Emotions control behaviors and behaviors control results!”. In this webcast we will explore how emotional intelligence impacts employee engagement along with how and why employee engagement generates successful and superior business results.
