A Basic Guide to Twitter for Business
Have you been avoiding getting your business or even yourself on Twitter because you don't think you know enough about it? This seminar will teach you everything you need to know about getting started on Twitter as a business and as a professional. We're quickly approaching the point where not having a Twitter account is a problem, much like not having a professional website was an issue about a decade ago.

I manage multiple accounts for myself, my website and for various client websites, as well as being the author of the popular Ultimate Guide for Everything Twitter (see resources link below). While we don't have time to go into everything in the Guide, I'll give you a crash course in the basics and arm you with the tools you need to get started right away.

Twitter Basics and Gaining Followers
We'll talk about the basics of setting up an account, a profile page for both a person and a business, and look at tools you can use to easily manage multiple Twitter accounts. We'll cover how to gain followers, best practices, what you should be tweeting and how often. We'll also talk about how to measure results using Google Analytics, Hootsuite, Klout, and other tools.

The Benefits of Twitter for Business
Using Twitter as a business signals an interest in engaging your customers and participating in conversations about your products rather than trying to control the message. If you are interested in controlling your brand, the solution is not to stay off Twitter, but to jump right in so you can participate rather than let the conversation happen without you.

The Benefits of Twitter for HR Professionals
As an HR professional, you can use Twitter to get a better idea of a candidate's personality, their interests and how effectively they communicate. You can also use what you learn about Twitter to put your best professional foot forward on Twitter and look like that stellar employee yourself.

Scheduling Tweets and Auto-Posting to Other Services
Managing Twitter does not have to be time-intensive. You'll learn how to schedule Tweets in advance, multitask your tweets so that they auto-post to your company Facebook page and your LinkedIn profile, and other time savers that can nip any objections about Twitter as a time waster right in the bud.

Using Twitter to Represent a Business
Another big mental hurdle many professionals have to jump is anxiety about what to say on Twitter. We'll look at some company accounts as best practice (and worst practice) studies so you can come away knowing exactly what to Tweet and what not to Tweet. There are unwritten rules of etiquette on Twitter, such as using hashtags when tweeting about a certain event, that we'll also cover to add to your sense of security about using the service.

Using Twitter as an HR Professional
We’ll look at how HR professionals are successfully using Twitter for recruitment and to market their own capabilities, both working within an organization and on their own as consultants.

By the time you are done with this, you'll be able to use Twitter with confidence either as an employee managing a Twitter account for a business or as an HR consultant.
