Details & Time Frame
Hourly Employee Talent: Attracting and Selecting Brand Ambassadors
Savvy hospitality companies understand that hourly employees represent their brand to guests. From the hostess and front desk agent who greet guests at the door to the line cook who prepares the meal and the housekeeper who cleans the rooms, hourly employees are a hospitality company’s heart and soul who can literally make or break the guests’ experience through critical points of contact. For better or worse, hourly employees are brand ambassadors, and there is much on the line in today’s competitive marketplace.
Given this high stakes proposition, hospitality companies need to examine their recruiting and selecting practices to ensure they have the tools and processes in place to attract and hire hourly employees who have the unique combination of personality and experience to accurately represent their brand. From the message being conveyed to applicants through employment branding to the tools that determine best fit for front and back of house applicants, hospitality companies can seize a great opportunity to align their talent processes to attract and select strong representatives of the brand.
You will hear from Randy Goldberg, the Vice President of Recruiting, at Hyatt Hotels who will share: 1) some of the innovative tools and strategies Hyatt has implemented to effectively brand their employment opportunities; and 2) how their use of social media and technology has made finding jobs easy and led to an increase in applicant flow. Randy and the strategic talent team at Hyatt understand the importance of hiring only the very best hourly employees who can effectively represent the Hyatt brand to guests. You will also hear from Scott McTague with Assess Systems who will present compelling data showing the critical differences between front and back of house employees and how assessments play a critical role in the decision making process. Together, Randy and Scott will better equip you to attract and select the best brand ambassadors for your organization.
