Sourcing: The Hunger Games Edition
10,000 Baby Boomers are retiring every single day. The workforce is shifting and the new workforce (Gen Y) is attracted to a different approach when it comes to recruiting strategies. With 60% of federal employees reaching retirement age within the next 5 years - which should correspond to private business as well - let the hunger games begin! There will be a fight for the very best talent, and those who are preparing and implementing changes in their recruiting strategies now are the ones who will win these battles.

No longer will vague job descriptions, posting ads on Monster, Linked In, or Craigslist, or even tweeting an opening out to followers work. The recruiting process will be more interpersonal and more strategic. Establishing cross generational strategies now will help you to attract the best and brightest. Marketing your company and having a solid brand in the marketplace will have high value. But more than anything else, you need to understand the generation and what they value in their careers and in their day to day activities.

This session will follow up on my previous session - The Net / Net of Net Geners - but you will find plenty of solid information and insight in this session alone. If you can only choose one session this month...this should be the one!

Sourcing: The Hunger Games Edition will be a very practical session that gives you specific examples of things that you can be doing today to start attracting Gen Y to your organization - and not every idea is going to cost you money.
