Health Care Reform: Strategies to Help Control Costs, Mitigate Risk, & Decrease Penalties
ADP invites you to join us for our latest event in a series focused on Health Care Reform – the provisions, deadlines and direct impact on employers. Based on the feedback and questions that have been posed in our prior events, we look forward to taking an opportunity to further address common compliance and cost control questions tied to this robust, game-changing legislation.

As an attendee of these events, you will receive information about some of the most frequently asked questions (FAQs), which ADP’s health and benefits team has received related to Health Care Reform.

In the U.S., Health Care Reform sets in motion the largest change in employer-provided health benefits in the post–World War II era. Simply put -- it’s the law of the land. Implementation began in 2010 – and for the most part, provided the proper amount of attention, has been relatively easy to manage from an administrative perspective to date.

Beginning in 2014, however, more complex rules take effect – rules that require planning and action in 2013 on the part of employers and plan sponsors. Of note, many businesses may not be adequately prepared. According to a study from the ADP Research Institute℠, only 17% of human resources and employee benefits decision makers at midsized companies (50-999 employees), and less than half of the same audience from large companies (1,000+ employees) are highly confident that they understand their responsibilities under Health Care Reform.
In an effort to identify strategies to help control costs and mitigate risk, during this event we will focus on the known and anticipated requirements and important dates relating to:
o       3/1/13: Employer Notice of Exchanges, including an overview of the Establishment of Healthcare Exchanges and Related Employer Responsibilities
o       1/1/14: Employer Shared Responsibility (“Play or Pay”– requirements, alternatives, and risks)
o       Pending Guidance: Automatic Enrollment
o       Pending Guidance: Non-Discrimination Testing for Insured Plans
o       1/1/18: Excise Tax on High-Cost Health Coverage (including its possible impact on employer-sponsored plans today)
o       ... and the Future of COBRA

ADP’s experts remain at the forefront of helping employers understand the complex compliance, financial, and strategic issues surrounding Health Care Reform.
