Description
"Workplace health promotion should not be construed as a means of making employers responsible for their employees' well-being. Rather the focus is on creating an environment at work that is conducive to improving health behaviours and fostering well-being." Conference Board Of Canada
Successful organizations know that healthy employees are a competitive edge. Company leaders and managers are in a unique position to assist employees in recognizing and dealing with the various challenges and stressors faced in the workplace and in their personal lives. Helping employees handle this stress is a smart business decision as research has proven that healthy employees positively impact the corporate bottom line. Seven Spokes of Wellness: As an HR professional, it can be difficult to determine what workplace wellness programs to offer and it is easy to get caught in the flavour-of-the day programming. A comprehensive workplace wellness program should cover the seven basic areas or spokes of wellness and should be based on the needs and challenges of the employees. Today’s employees are finding it difficult to balance work and life and with many of our employees being impacted by additional caregiving responsibilities, it is in a company’s best interest to help them identify the strategies that will assist them and to offer programs that will decrease their stress. This workplace wellness presentation will specifically highlight family friendly programs offered by top employers from around the world. These programs will highlight the importance of programming to the specific needs within your organization. It will assist the HR professional to create a comprehensive wellness program based on the S-O-S PrincipleTM and the Seven Spokes Of Wellness. Who Should Participate
