Employees are our biggest asset and investment, so shouldn't we expect to get the greatest ROI from their service? Many business struggle with the issue of keeping employees (whether old or new) engaged in their jobs, but few seem to have answers to the problem of declining employee interest and dedication. I came across this blog post the other day from the PeopleMatter Institute, and I thought it offers some interesting advice on how to keep people engaged in their positions without re-inventing the wheel. Starting from the very beginning with regard to matching the individual to the position is not only innovative but also efficient... maybe we should all think for just a second longer before we extend that job offer. After all, are you sure that employee is right for the job?

Take a look at the post if you have some time. I thought it was really interesting and might help out some of our friends in the service industry.
