Salaried employee - if he takes more hours of PTO than fixed hours / per pay period??

I have a question and it will be appreciated if someone can help me to answer it.

Our payroll cycle is semi-monthly and we pay 86.67 hours per pay period to salaried emploeye. We have one salaried employee who requested PTO from July 16 to 31. It is 12 days and he would get 96 hours of PTO. My question is shall we pay him 86.67 hours, or shall we pay him 96 hours of PTO?
