According to the 2011 Gallup-Healthways Well-Being Index, workers with chronic health conditions cost U.S. companies $153 billion in annual lost productivity costs. Overweight workers with three or more chronic conditions have 42 unhealthy days per year, compared to 4 for healthy workers.
