Company Car Policy
11/21/2007 / 3:35 pm    #1

I have been put in charge of revising our company's policy regarding cars. While I have the basics regarding safe use of the car, I am having more trouble finding out what percentage of the upkeep of the car is the responsibility of the employee versus the employer.

Any help or sample policies would be helpful

I have never heard of a company paying for the maintenance of employees' cars even if travel is a significant part of their job, and I know of no law that requires one to do so. You may consider paying a greater mileage reimbursement rate to offset those expenses which come naturally with owning an automobile.
